These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the Cognitive Biases mobile and web application and related website operated by MetalHatsCats (“we”, “us”). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Educational Purpose Only

The Service provides educational content about cognitive biases to help you reflect on thinking patterns. It is not therapy, medical, legal, or financial advice. For diagnosis or treatment, consult a qualified professional.

2. Eligibility & Use

• You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service.
• No login is required for core use. If optional features (e.g., cloud sync) are introduced, you agree to keep credentials secure and accurate.
• You are responsible for your device, internet connection, and compliance with local laws.

3. Privacy & Data

We respect your privacy. See our Privacy Policy for details on what we collect (e.g., diagnostics/analytics) and how we use it. We do not sell your personal data.

4. Content & Intellectual Property

All content, features, and software are owned by MetalHatsCats or its licensors and protected by applicable IP laws. You may use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes only. Do not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without prior written consent.

5. Payments & Subscriptions

Some features may be offered via in-app purchases or subscriptions processed by the app stores. Prices and billing terms are shown at purchase. Unless noted otherwise, subscriptions renew automatically until canceled in your store account settings. Payments are handled by the store; we do not store full card details.

6. Acceptable Use

• No unlawful, harmful, or abusive use.
• No reverse engineering, scraping, or disrupting the Service.
• No infringement of others’ rights or posting illegal content (if UGC features are present).

7. App Store Terms

If you download the app from Apple App Store, Google Play, or Microsoft Store, your use is also subject to the respective store’s terms and policies. Where these Terms conflict with store rules, the store rules may prevail for transactions made there.

8. Disclaimers

The Service is provided on an “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” basis without warranties of any kind, express or implied (including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement). We do not guarantee accuracy, completeness, or availability of content at all times.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, MetalHatsCats and its affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or revenues, arising from or related to your use of (or inability to use) the Service.

10. Suspension / Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the Service at any time if you violate these Terms or if required by law. Upon termination, provisions that by nature should survive (e.g., IP, disclaimers, limitations of liability) will remain in effect.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced with reasonable notice. Continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where MetalHatsCats is registered, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Local mandatory consumer protections may still apply.
