CBT Cards is an app, not a book
Published: October 31, 2025
CBT Cards is an application developed by MetalHatsCats. It is not a book, workbook, or static guide. This note explains what the app is, how it works, and how data is handled.
What CBT Cards is
CBT Cards is an offline-first app built around short CBT prompts. Each card provides a structured sequence: identify the thought, test it, and choose a more balanced response. Users can add short notes and revisit cards as needed. The focus is on interaction and repeatable workflows rather than long-form reading.
What CBT Cards is not
CBT Cards is not therapy and does not replace professional care. It does not diagnose or treat conditions. It is also not a book or course. There is no narrative progression or chapter-based curriculum.
How the app works in practice
Cards are designed for short sessions. You choose a card, follow a small set of prompts, and capture a brief reflection if useful. The app is designed to work without a network connection, which keeps usage consistent in low-signal environments.
Data and privacy
CBT Cards does not require an account. Notes and preferences are stored on the device. The app may collect anonymous diagnostics such as crashes or performance metrics to improve stability. For details, see the CBT Cards Privacy Policy.
Why the app format matters
A book is static and linear. CBT Cards is interactive and stateful. It is built to support short, repeatable check-ins with minimal friction. This is the core distinction: the product is a tool, not a content library.
